The â€Å"real world† is coming soon. The moment we all wait for, the moment we are able to put on our graduation caps, and have the sense of relief. We’re done! But as the soon-to-be graduates are handed their diplomas, and we being the search, some of dread. A recurring theme in recent graduate job search is the lack of experience factor. Where do I get experience if no one is willing to hire me? â€Å"What will set our resume apart from the rest?† Easy answer, internships. Many students focus on gaining experience with internships to add to the resume. Work experience makes you more marketable as a job candidate; it also gives you the opportunity to fully understand the field you have chosen. Then you can truly enter your field with your eyes wide open. Employers are not only looking for experience, but the right experience. Organization Communication: Approaches and Processes by Katherine Miller explains five key concepts that can applied to any student building up their resume. Theme Of The Blind Man - 867 Words

The theme is the man finding his inner self through the blind man. For example; the blind man and the Narrator were going to draw a Cathedral together, and the blind man asks the man to close his eyes, and then the blind man put his hand on top of his hand and began to draw. It was not like nothing else in his life and he enjoyed the experience and that he could relate to the blind man (Craver, 1981, p. 32) The plot begins when a blind man comes to visit his wife they had not seen each other in a very long time. His wife used to work for the blind man, reading stuff and case reports to him and organizing his little office in a county social service department. They kept in touch by mailing each other tapes, they became good†¦show more content†¦For example; And having a blind man coming over to sleep in his house the narrator wasn’t not happy. He was sarcastic by asking his wife, â€Å"Maybe I can take him bowling,† she didn’t appreciate his comment. (Cr aver, 1981, p. 32). His wife was perturbed with her husband. My wife began to tell me the story in how the blind man and his wife called Beulah, met after my wife stop working for the blind man. Beulah wanted a small wedding, it was just the two of them and the minister. But Beulah had cancer and her health had decline and she died in Seattle, the blind man sat and held on to her hand. The blind man and his wife were inseparable, they lived and worked together for eight years. The Narrator thought about Robert not knowing what his wife looked like. The narrator felt sorry for the blind man for a bit, and found himself thinking what a pitiful life for this woman. For example; the wife would never know how she looked through her love one’s eyes, and never receive a compliment form her husband, and never read the expressions on her face (Craver, 198 p.32). The setting takes place in 1981 in New York, a two-story house where this took place. The Taming Of The Shrew Persuasive Essay How does Katherina in The Taming Of The Shrew change and develop as the play progresses?  In this essay I am going to be studying the character of Katherina from William Shakespeares play The Taming Of The Shrew.  Katherina is a fiery, bad-tempered, violent shrew that nobody likes. Men are petrified of her! Her sister Bianca has a great number of suitors and all the male attention. This includes her father who clearly favours Bianca. We first meet Kate in Act one, Scene one, L.50-54. Her father states that no one shall marry his youngest daughter (Bianca) until he finds a husband for Kate.  To cart her rather! Shes too rough for me. Says Gremio, L.55, in response to Baptistas suggestion about finding a suitor for Kate, L.48-54. This obviously shows he doesnt like her much if he feels she should be treated like a prostitute,  Hortensio then says, L.59-60, No mates for you unless you were of a gentler milder mould. Obviously Gremio isnt the only one who believes she is too rough. Katherina then speaks and we begin to understand why these men arent too fond of her temper.  to comb your noddle with a three-leggd stool and paint your face and use you like a fool. (L.64-65) She says she is going to hit him on the head with a stool and paint his face with blood. She is living up to her reputation!  It seems first impressions arent in Kates favour as Tranio, who has only known Kate a few minutes, comments, That wrench is stark mad, or wonderful forward. (L.69) He is saying she is bad-tempered. Maybe another reason for Kates bad temper is because of her jealousy over her sister? She has all the suitors, she is beautiful and it would appear that Baptista favours her.  and let it not displease thee, good Bianca, for I will love thee neer the less, my girl. Says Baptista, L.76-77.  Kate is quite aware of his favouritism and refers to her sister as A pretty peat!, L.78.  Baptista then says, L.91-101, Go in, Bianca, for I know she taketh most delight in music, instruments, and poetry Katherina, you may stay, for I have more to commune with Bianca. Once again his favouritism is evident. He doesnt invite Kate to go inside, just Bianca. Why, and I trust I may go too, may I not? Asks Kate, L.102. Kate is obviously envious of her sister and would have liked to be invited inside too.  Its no wonder she is so bad tempered! She has nobody on her side, her father favours her sister and everyone appears to dislike her.  Act two, scene one begins with Bianca and Kate arguing. Kate has tied her sisters hands together and they are discussing Biancas suitors.  Of all thy suitors here I charge thee tell whom thou lovst best. Demands Kate in Lines 8-9 showing her authority over her sister. Bianca responds by telling her sister she is still looking for someone she likes. Kate obviously doesnt believe her sister as she replies, L.13, Minion, thou liest! She refers to her sister as a minion, which is a term of abuse for the spoilt favourite child. This proves she does feel Bianca is favoured!  Baptista then enters and shows his partiality for his youngest daughter yet again.  Why, how now, dame! Whence grows this insolence? Bianca, stand aside. Poor girl, she weeps. (L.23-24) Baptista calls Katherina a dame (madam) which is a term of rebuke. He then unties her hands and says, L.25-28, Go ply thy needle; meddle not with her. For shame, thou hilding of a devilish spirit! Why dost thou wrong her that did neer wrong thee? White collar criminals dont get their hands dirty in their work. They use their heads to get what they want instead of using a little muscle. These criminals are just as dangerous as the rapists and murderers. In these times, even the most seemingly respectable people are suspected of white collar crimes. President Clinton and the first lady Hillary Clinton have been tangled up in the Whitewater and Travelgate business ventures. Although the two have not been formally charged with any wrongdoing, there is a committee currently investigating their dealings and charges are not out of the question for either of them. In Michael Isikoffs and Mark Hosenballs Newsweek article Cracks in the Wall, they describe the Clintons dealings with Whitewater and the possible consequences of them: The Senate Whitewater committee is considering asking for perjury charges against Susan Thomas and Magg ie Williams, Mrs. Clintons chief of staff, in connection with her testimony about the removal of documents from Vince Fosters office (Isikoff 29). This case goes to show that there presently a growing problem with our country, and it is called white collar crime. White collar crimes are very numerous in kind. New ones are always being invented by someone with a good scam. Embezzlement, tax evasion, and fraud are some of the more popular kinds. A person who has the power of controlling money in a business is most likely commit embezzlement. A shortened definition of embezzlement is to steal money that is entrusted to Phillips 2 one. Forgery also shows the same growth trends as embezzlement. From 1984 to 1993 forgery and counterfeiting increased twenty-one percent (U.S. Dept. of Justice 240). Bogus ads, job scams, and telephone scams are all examples of fraud. Basically these scams ask you to send money for something that is non-existent. An example of a telephone scam would be if someone called to ask for donations for a phony organization or charity. If you donated the money, it would either not get to the organization or charity you wanted, or the charity simply did not exist in the first place. The most obvious way these crimes differ from other crimes is that they dont require any dirty work. When people think of crimes, they think of get away cars and bank heists, but many criminals never even touch a gun. Their weapon of choice is a computer or a telephone. They are just as deadly with these as the man with the gun in the bank. White collar crimes are committed out of greed. The people who usual ly commit these crimes are financially secure. A lot of crimes are committed out of greed, but virtually all white collar crimes are committed out of greed. Statistics show that the majority of white collar crimes are committed by certain groups of people. Using the Federal Bureau of Investigations findings, White collar crimes are definitely committed by certain people. nine thousand five-hundred and six people, who were all over eighteen, were arrested for embezzlement in nine-teen ninety three.
